The last reported attack of the EAR occurred in Walnut Creek, CA on 6/26/79. The man known as the East Area Rapist, who had terrified whole communities in Northern California, would simply disappear and then re-emerge approximately three months later in Southern California and transform himself from a serial rapist into a serial killer.
