In 2001, an Orange County criminologist matched the DNA of a suspect in 10 Southern California murders committed between 1980 and 1986 with 50 rapes committed in Northern California from 1976 to 1979. This suspect was known by two monikers: The East Area Rapist and the Original Night Stalker. We are now calling him the Diamond Knot Killer. The identity of this rapist/killer remains unknown.
